first roses

I think that this tote bag finished very pretty! It was created for a limited custom order.

These are the first roses blooming in my back yeard! I love my roses, and I hope that I can make an old rose corsage very soon!

There are some flowers in my garden whose names I don’t know. Every year, different flowers bloom and make me surprised.

first anniversary

It is my Etsy shop’s first anniversary today!! I’m very happy that I can create new things and keep my shop open. It has been like a wild dream that I could send my bags to places all over the world where I’ve never been. I hope that my gratitude reaches each customer, and that my bags still make them smile...

I made this panda bear pouch early in 2008. It was my first panda appliqued bag. The pouch is getting faded because I take it everywhere I go as my lucky charm. It works for me to have a little bit of panda power!

panda-chan taking nap on azalea bush

Oh? Panda-chan’s body is a little bit weird? The tuck on the front is questionable... When I make bags and applique, I have patience, and set my quality standards high.  But I know that I let my shabby stitches go when I make mascots.  I love making them, and I become impatient for them.  I can't stand taking long long hours to meet new creatures.  And I try convincing myself that my panda-chan seems happy as she is!

She found somewhere nice on an azalea bush for taking a nap.

It is a nice day in my town, a lot of sun and breeze...

panda & corsage

I made a new appliqué today. I didn’t realize it, but it was the first panda bear walking pose. Her foot print is so cute, and I’m glad that she looks happy.

This is my first handmade camellia corsage! I learned how to make this one from Nona-sensei. The corsage is made from linen, and the yellow inside is leather. It is hard to sew leather by hand, but I’m satisfied by the result. The stem is made from thin wire, and wrapped with linen. The leaves were bias cut, and reinforced before attachment. I think that I need to create grown-up appliqué characters for the corsage.

pink hair girl in her closet quilted zipper

A pink haired girl is my first undisguised character appliqué. She was created because I’ve always regretted that I never dyed my hair pink. If only I had the courage... So I created a pink hair girl like my panda bear disguise, for my own wish fulfillment.
